We Have Electric Lines

The big project that has been looming all winter has finally happened. The trenches were dug for the power line and the electric company came and laid the line this past week. It was quite the undertaking. The house sits over 1200 feet off the road and the same distance from the nearest power line. We didn't want to cut down trees and have an overhead line ran so we opted for underground. It took three months to plan between the builder and the power company and it finally happened. It took several hundred feet of conduit, a new power pole at the road, and an over 4ft deep trench to make happen.

Fireplace Construction

Over the past two weeks, the mason was able to start work on the fireplaces and almost finish them. He was working from the pictures that we had given our architect of the inspiration house and we wanted them to mirror those. He's doing a good job and we couldn't be more pleased. What they are lacking in these photos is the concrete formed mantels that should be there by the next visit.
