Its been a long, cold, snowy winter in southwest Virginia this year. Not much progress has been made on the house in the past three months. Seems the contractors and workers hibernate when cold weather settles in in those parts. The weather has now broken and there's hope of some activity. The builder had the materials for the fireplace delivered this past week and the brick mason delivered his equipment with hopes of starting and finishing the fireplace in the next week. Seems its a complicated job to build two fireplaces back to back. There's going to be one for the great room and directly behind it will be one on the outside for the covered pergola area. The look will be industrial with cement block being the decorative portion. Bets are on with the brick mason we'll have him back up to put stone on it. Finished photos to follow upon completion.
